- Clean the dryer lint screen and reachable lint slot.
- Check that the dryer hose is not crushed.
- Look for water heater corrosion or pooling water from a safe distance.
- Replace HVAC filters if airflow direction and size are clear.
Stop for burning smell, gas concerns, wet electrical equipment, or blocked wall/roof vents.
Safety Pass
- Test smoke alarms and replace weak batteries.
- Confirm carbon monoxide alarms are present where needed.
- Clear tripping hazards near stairs and exits.
- Write down any job that needs a licensed professional.
Stop and call emergency services for gas smell, active fire, shock, flooding, or structural movement.
