PlantProof Privacy Policy

Overview

PlantProof helps users keep a reviewable vegan food diary. The app is designed to make nutrition estimates editable and user-confirmed before they become diary entries.

Data Stored In The App

PlantProof may store the following information on your device:

• Meal entries, meal titles, ingredients, portions, nutrition estimates, and notes.
• Optional meal photos selected or captured by you.
• Diet constraints, allergy settings, and basic profile details used for estimates.
• Saved meals, repeat meal patterns, grocery items, and diary history.

Photos And AI Analysis

When photo analysis is enabled, meal photos may be sent to PlantProof backend services so the app can estimate visible ingredients and nutrition. AI results are estimates and must be reviewed by the user. Do not use PlantProof as final nutrition facts, allergy advice, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Apple Health

Apple Health export is not enabled in the current submission-track build. If Health export is added later, PlantProof will request permission before writing confirmed nutrition summaries such as calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat.

Backend Services

PlantProof may use backend services for food photo analysis, packaged-food lookup, account features, or sync if those features are enabled. Backend providers may include Supabase, OpenAI or another AI provider, and food database providers such as Open Food Facts.

Data Controls

You can delete local diary entries and local app data from inside the app. If future account sync is enabled, backend account and data deletion controls will be disclosed in the app and handled through support or in-app controls.

What PlantProof Is Not

PlantProof is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, emergency guidance, weight-loss treatment, or guaranteed allergy detection. Users with allergies or medical conditions should verify labels and consult qualified professionals.
